Opmerkingen

Nicaragua's Córdoba series of the late 1960s was printed during a period of relative monetary stability under the Somoza regime, when the Córdoba held a fixed peg to the US dollar at 7:1 — a rate maintained with unusual discipline from 1912 until the political and economic unraveling of the late 1970s. Thomas De La Rue's involvement was standard for Central American central banks of the period, several of which outsourced their entire note production to London rather than develop domestic printing capacity.

Pick 116 is the second of two signature varieties for this denomination, distinguished by the officials signing in their respective capacities as President and Minister of Finance.
