| 备注 |
Issued to mark the bicentennial of the birth of José Simeón Cañas y Villacorta, the Salvadoran priest who in 1823 successfully petitioned the Central American Constituent Assembly to abolish slavery in the region — making him a figure of genuine historical weight rather than ceremonial currency portraiture. El Salvador had commemorated him before, but the 1967 note formalized that association within the regular circulating series rather than as a standalone commemorative issue.
Thomas De La Rue's production for Banco Central de Reserva dates back decades by this point, and the P#109 sits within a long run of Salvadoran notes printed under that contract.
