正面描述 Printed in dark blue-grey intaglio over a light multicolour guilloche underprint, the obverse centres on a historical vignette of Father José Matías Delgado addressing a crowd of patriots before a colonial building, captioned 'DELGADO, ACOMPAÑADO DE OTROS PRÓCERES, ARENGANDO AL PUEBLO' beneath the frame. Denomination numeral 5 appears in ornate counters at each corner, with the series letters and serial number printed in red. Three manuscript signatures identifying the Director, Presidente, and Cajero appear below the central vignette.

备注

The Banco Central de Reserva de El Salvador maintained a long relationship with the American Bank Note Company throughout the mid-twentieth century, and this 1968 issue sits within a series that remained structurally unchanged across multiple signature varieties — the A suffix on P#111 distinguishes this by official signatures rather than any redesign. ABNC's intaglio work for Central American clients during this period was technically consistent but rarely experimental.

El Salvador's colón had been pegged at 2.50 to the US dollar since 1934, a rate the country held with unusual discipline for decades. That stability meant these notes circulated without the inflationary pressure that degraded so many contemporaneous Latin American issues.
