Reverse description Entirely engraved in deep blue, the reverse is dominated by a large central ornamental panel enclosing an elaborate interlocking cipher of the numeral 5, surrounded by dense guilloche scrollwork and flanked by two ornate rosette medallions bearing the numeral 5. Corner pieces repeat the denomination, and the bank name is divided across the lower margin reading BANCO INTERNACIONAL DE COSTA RICA. The American Bank Note Company imprint appears discreetly at the lower centre.
