Two oval vignettes flank the central text panel: at left, a standing allegorical female figure holding foliage, and at right, a pastoral scene with figures and a tree. The central panel carries the denomination numeral '5' in guilloche surrounds with the text 'CINCO' repeated, above the date '1º Noviembre de 1914' and the place of issue 'San José'. The issuer's name 'INTERNACIONAL DE COSTA RICA' appears in bold letterpress across the top, with serial numbers 'Nº 94896' printed twice and series letter 'A' indicated.

Popis rubu	Printed entirely in red on white paper, the reverse centres on a large oval guilloche frame enclosing a bold stylised numeral '5' underprint. Two elaborate rosette guilloche medallions flank the central oval at left and right, with the denomination numeral '5' repeated in each corner. The issuer's name 'BANCO INTERNACIONAL DE COSTA RICA' appears in letterpress along the lower portion of the central oval.
