Beschrijving voorzijde	The national coat of arms of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting a hydroelectric dam and power lines set against a mountain landscape, framed by sheaves of rice tied with a ribbon at the base, and surmounted by a five-pointed star radiating rays. A decorative border of stylised floral and foliate motifs frames the outer field. The circular legend in Hangul script reads '조선민주주의인민공화국' (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) along the upper periphery, with the date of issue inscribed in Arabic numerals at the base.
