Comments

Kiangsi Provincial Bank issued a flood of fractional notes in the final months before the People's Liberation Army swept through Jiangxi in May 1949. The Hequn factory — a local commercial printer pressed into currency work — was one of several provincial facilities producing notes as the Nationalist financial infrastructure collapsed and central supply lines became unreliable. Quality varies sharply across surviving examples, a direct consequence of wartime material shortages rather than age-related deterioration.

The series had an effective circulation life of weeks.
