The precise administrative affiliation of this particular issuer remains a point of some ambiguity among specialists — the bank's name appears in both Chinese and romanized Manchu-inflected transliteration on the note, suggesting issuance within or near Manchukuo's sphere rather than the Wang Jingwei regime further south.
