| Opmerkingen |
The Northwest Branch of the Chinese Soviet Republic National Bank operated out of the Shaanxi-Gansu border region during the Kuomintang's encirclement campaigns — a period when the Communist-controlled areas maintained their own parallel financial systems largely out of necessity and political doctrine. Notes of this branch are distinct from those issued by the main bank at Ruijin in Jiangxi, and the two should not be conflated.
Survival rates are low. The base areas were under constant military pressure, and paper currency from Soviet-period institutions was actively suppressed and destroyed following KMT territorial recoveries. Most examples that exist today were preserved outside the region rather than recovered from circulation.
