MasterVision is a Russian private mint producing collector tokens denominated in "chervontsy," a unit revived from the Soviet monetary reform of 1922 when the chervonets was pegged to gold and briefly stabilized a currency ravaged by civil war and hyperinflation. The private use of the name here carries no legal tender status — these are fantasy pieces issued squarely at the collector and novelty market.
The bimetallic construction mirrors the format Russia adopted for its 10-ruble circulation coins beginning in the late 1990s, a deliberate visual echo that gives MV tokens an air of official legitimacy they technically lack.
