| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing bust of King Willem II occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail to the hair and facial features including a short beard. The truncation of the neck is cleanly cut. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading WILLEM II KONING DER NED. G.H.V.L., denoting his titles as King of the Netherlands and Grand Duke of Luxembourg. The coin is bordered by a fine beaded rim. |
