Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, her hair swept back and gathered in a chignon with a ribbon falling at the neck, wearing a small ornate crown or diadem on her head. The effigy was engraved by Leonard Charles Wyon in a refined classical style. The legend VICTORIA arcs along the left periphery and QUEEN along the right, with the mint mark H appearing at the base of the truncation on Heaton-struck examples. A fine toothed border surrounds the design.
