备注

Military Payment Scrip issued by the Pusan Officers' Open Mess during the Korean War period, A.P.O. 96259 placing it firmly within the Eighth United States Army's rear-echelon command structure in Pusan — the port city that remained the primary U.S. logistics hub throughout the conflict. Mess scrip of this type circulated exclusively within the issuing establishment, functioning as a closed-loop currency to prevent U.S. dollars and MPC from leaking into the Korean black market, a persistent problem the Army never fully solved.

Tan paper was typical of low-denomination mess chits across Korea and Japan in this period, chosen for quick visual differentiation at the bar or cashier.
