Obverse description Draped and capped bust of Liberty facing left, wearing a headband inscribed LIBERTY, with flowing curls cascading behind. Thirteen six-pointed stars surround the effigy, seven to the left and six to the right, arranged along the inner border. The date is prominently struck in the lower exergue below the truncation. The design is executed in the neoclassical style characteristic of early American coinage, with fine detail in the cap and drapery folds.
