| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central design featuring a large Victory 'V' motif, its apex surmounted by a flaming torch, faithfully reproduced from the iconic 1945 wartime five-cent coin. Two maple leaves flank the base of the 'V' in the lower field. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper portion of the coin, while CENTS curves along the lower periphery. The commemorative double dates 1945 and 2005 appear to the left and right of the central device respectively, with the engraver's initials T.S. incused below the torch. A dashed border runs inside the beaded rim, echoing the design of the original wartime issue. |
