| Obverse description | Special Memorial obverse featuring the sixth and final crowned effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, facing right. The Queen is depicted wearing the George IV State Diadem and the Victorian Coronation Necklace, rendered in fine relief. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II 1952 - 2022, commemorating her reign, with AUSTRALIA and the issue year 2023 also inscribed, along with the engraver's initials JC. This obverse was introduced as a memorial portrait following the Queen's passing in September 2022. |
