Reverse description A naturalistically rendered beaver is depicted in left profile, seated atop a rocky outcrop that occupies the central field. The denomination 5 CENTS arcs above the beaver, while the country name CANADA appears on a straight baseline below the rock. Maple leaves flank the design on either side, and the date and mint marks appear in the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border following the twelve-sided outline of the flan.
