Obverse description Uncrowned effigy of King George VI facing left, modeled by sculptor Humphrey Paget, whose initials 'HP' appear below the truncation of the neck. The king is depicted with a bare head and a plain neckline, rendered in a restrained and naturalistic style. The circular legend reads GEORGIVS VI DEI GRATIA REX, with the abbreviated title HP positioned discreetly at the base of the bust. A beaded border runs along the full circumference of the coin.
