背面描述 The numeral '5' above the word 'CENTS' is displayed prominently at the centre of the coin, all enclosed within a raised beaded circle. The colonial name 'BRITISH HONDURAS' arcs along the upper periphery outside the beaded circle, while the date '1939' appears in the lower exergue area outside the beaded circle, flanked on each side by small decorative leaf or scroll ornaments. The entire design is set within a milled outer border.

附加信息

British Honduras issued copper-nickel 5-cent pieces through the latter 1930s while much of the Caribbean was still recovering from the Depression-era collapse in agricultural commodity prices, particularly mahogany and chicle — the colony's two economic pillars. The 1939 issue is notable for being among the last struck before wartime metal priorities disrupted normal coinage schedules across British colonial mints.

George VI's effigy appeared on colonial coinage only from 1938 onward, following his brother's abdication in December 1936 and the subsequent re-tooling of dies across the empire.
