Obverse description Printed in green on white paper, the obverse bears a portrait vignette of King George VI in military uniform at the right, with Chinese characters for the denomination (伍分) in guilloche oval panels at the left and lower corners. The central text panel carries the legal tender clause in English and the denomination FIVE CENTS with Chinese equivalent, beneath the bilingual title GOVERNMENT OF HONG KONG / 香港政府 at the top. A signature appears above the designation FINANCIAL SECRETARY at the lower right.
