The mintmark 'C' for the Royal Canadian Mint at Ottawa appears at the base of the cartouche. The legend 'NEWFOUNDLAND' arcs along the upper periphery in widely spaced capital letters, flanked by raised dot stops on either side, with a milled border encircling the entire reverse. |
