Reverse description The large numeral '5' dominates the centre of the square flan, rendered in a bold, decorated style with horizontal line engraving. The word CEYLON appears in an arc above, and CENTS is inscribed below the numeral with the date below that. To the left, the denomination is rendered vertically in Sinhala script, and to the right in Tamil script, with the numeral 5 appearing at lower right in Tamil. The overall layout is symmetrical and well-balanced within the square format with rounded corners.
