Reverse description The denomination numeral 5 in large, bold, horizontally lined relief occupies the central field, with the word CENTS inscribed below it, all enclosed within an inner beaded circle. The circular legend COMMISSIONERS OF CURRENCY MALAYA runs along the outer periphery between two beaded borders. The date, flanked by decorative star stops, appears at the base of the design within the outer legend. The composition is clean and functional, consistent with British colonial coinage design of the period.
