Obverse description Left-facing draped and crowned effigy of King George V, modeled by Edgar Bertram MacKennal, occupying the central field with fine detail in the robes and imperial crown. The legend GEORGIVS V REX ET IND:IMP: arcs around the periphery, notably omitting the DEI GRATIA title that would appear on subsequent issues, making this the so-called 'Godless' variety. A fine beaded border encircles the entire obverse design.
