| Obverse description | Uncrowned, bare-headed effigy of King Frederik VII of Denmark facing right, with short curled hair and a full beard, rendered in finely detailed high relief. The engraver's initials FK appear in small letters beneath the truncation of the bust. The circular legend arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1859 placed at the bottom of the field beneath the portrait. The portrait is executed in a classical neoclassical style consistent with mid-19th-century Danish coinage. |
