备注

The Fred W. Albrecht Grocery Co. was an Akron, Ohio-based grocery chain that operated from 1891 well into the twentieth century under the Acme Click retail brand. Food stamp scrip of this type was issued by private grocers during the Depression years as a supplementary exchange medium — customers earning fractional change in scrip were effectively locked into returning to the same store, which was precisely the point.

James R. Berry's treasurer signature places this within the company's corporate-era operations rather than its early family-run period. Small-denomination scrip below 10 cents is disproportionately scarce; most was redeemed quickly or simply lost.
