Reverse description The large numeral '5' dominates the centre of the square flan, flanked above by the country name in Sinhala script and below by the denomination in both Sinhala and Tamil scripts. The legend FIVE CENTS appears in Latin script beneath the native-script denominations, and the date 1968 is inscribed along the lower margin. The entire central device is encircled by a decorative floral or foliate border, with the word TRIAL visible along the left edge of the flan consistent with its trial-strike status.
