| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as rendered by Susanna Blunt, depicting the Queen at approximately 77 years of age in right-facing profile. The portrait shows the Queen bareheaded, adorned with a necklace and drop earrings, in a restrained and dignified style characteristic of the Blunt effigy adopted for Canadian coinage from 2003.
