Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as sculpted by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, a pearl drop earring, and a pearl necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim and D • G • REGINA along the right rim. The dual commemorative dates 1952 and 2002, marking the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty's reign, appear in the lower field beneath the portrait, flanked by the mint mark P below, denoting the Royal Canadian Mint's Ottawa facility.
