Reverse description The reverse reproduces, in full colour, the iconic Canadian beaver motif first introduced on the five-cent piece in 1937, designed by G.E. Kruger-Gray. A naturalistic beaver is depicted in profile, resting atop a rocky outcrop surrounded by blue water rendered in colour, with two maple leaves flanking the denomination '5 CENTS' at the upper field. The legend 'CANADA' and the date '2018' appear in the lower field, with the designer's initials 'K·G' visible to the left. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
