Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, sculpted by Cecil Thomas, wearing the George IV State Diadem with cross pattée at apex and pearled bands, her hair dressed in curls at the nape. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower field. The peripheral legend QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND runs clockwise around the effigy, separated from the toothed border by a narrow rim.
