| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features a multilayered construction in which the top plate displays an engraved wave pattern across the field, cut away at centre to reveal the effigy of King Charles III on the interior surface below. The portrait depicts the King at approximately 74 years of age, facing left, rendered in a restrained, contemporary style. The legend CHARLES III D·G·REX SR arcs around the upper portion of the design. The interplay between the perforated top plate and the underlying relief creates a sculptural, three-dimensional effect characteristic of this innovative series. |
