Obverse description The complete Coat of Arms of Rhodesia occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield supported by a sable antelope on the left and a kudu on the right, surmounted by a helmet with a Zimbabwe bird as crest. The design is rendered in high relief with no surrounding legend or inscription. The engraver's initials 'T.S.' appear in small lettering at the lower right of the field. The coin features a beaded border encircling the entire design.

Reverse description A centrally positioned Easter lily (Lilium longiflorum) in full bloom dominates the field, its stem and leaves rendered in fine detail, with the date '19 73' flanking the stem at mid-height.
