| Opmerkingen |
Premià de Mar is a small coastal town north of Barcelona, and like hundreds of Catalan municipalities, it issued its own emergency paper money during the Spanish Civil War after the collapse of normal coin circulation in 1936. These locally issued notes — collectively known as "moneda de necessitat" — were produced under Republican authority, often by local printers with minimal security printing. The Turró catalogue documents over 2,000 such issuers, and Premià de Mar's 5 Céntimos is among the more modestly produced examples in the series.
Survival rates vary sharply across municipal issues; smaller print runs from minor coastal towns tend to surface less frequently than those from larger inland centers.
