Opmerkingen

During the Spanish Civil War, the collapse of small-denomination coinage across Republican-controlled Catalonia forced hundreds of local organizations — trade unions, municipal councils, consumer cooperatives — to print their own emergency scrip. La Progresiva was a workers' cooperative, and its token currency would have circulated only among members and within the immediate local economy of Parets del Vallès, a small industrial town in the Vallès Oriental comarca north of Barcelona.

The cataloguing under both Gari Mon and the Allepuz series reflects the sheer volume of Catalan civil war local issues — documentation took decades and remains incomplete in places. At 44 by 39 millimeters, this is among the smallest-format issues of the entire Republican emergency scrip phenomenon.
