Llano de Cuarte is a small village in the Valencia region, and this 5 céntimos note is a product of the Spanish Civil War's extraordinary fragmentation of local exchange. When the Republic's central coinage supply collapsed after 1936, thousands of municipalities, cooperatives, and collectives printed their own emergency scrip. The Cooperativa de Consumo — a consumer cooperative managing food supplies — issued this piece specifically to keep internal transactions moving when no other small change was available.
The Turró reference (PV#903) places it firmly within the Valencia province series documented by Andreu Turró, the most systematic catalog of this Civil War local scrip.
