| Opmerkingen |
Linares, a lead-mining town in Jaén province, was a CNT stronghold from the opening weeks of the Civil War. The Comité Central Ejecutivo issued these fractional emergency notes in late 1936 to address a near-total collapse of small change — silver and copper coin had disappeared from circulation almost immediately after the July uprising, hoarded or melted down across Republican-held Spain.
Local committee issues of this type were printed under improvised conditions and typically circulated only within a tight geographic radius. The Gari catalogue documents dozens of such Linares emissions, reflecting how thoroughly the anarcho-syndicalist committees had taken over municipal economic functions in the area.
