| Obverse description | Left-facing allegorical bust of the Spanish Republic, rendered in the classical tradition by sculptor Mariano Benlliure. The figure wears her hair swept back and is adorned with a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of liberty, positioned atop her head. An olive or laurel branch emerges behind the bust at the lower right, adding a decorative and symbolic element to the composition. The legend REPUBLICA ESPAÑOLA curves along the left periphery of the field in raised Latin characters. |
