| 表面の説明 | Plain cream card stock with typeset letterpress text arranged in a simple layout. The issuer inscription appears across the top, with the denomination numeral '5' printed in a larger typeface at centre-left alongside the word 'cèntims', and the series designation 'Sèrie F.' in the upper-right corner. The text is printed in black and red ink, giving a two-colour appearance typical of Catalan Civil War municipal emergency issues. |

Cervià de les Garrigues is a small municipality in the Garrigues comarca of Lleida, and like hundreds of Catalan towns it resorted to locally printed emergency fractional currency during the Spanish Civil War after the Republican government's coin supply collapsed in 1936–37. These tiny municipal issues — vales, as they were commonly called — were produced with whatever printing resources the local council could access, and the thick card stock used here reflects that improvisation: it was more durable than standard paper and easier to handle as a substitute coin.
Turró catalogues over 2,000 distinct Catalan municipal issues from this period. Cervià de les Garrigues was a village of a few hundred people. The print run was almost certainly negligible.
