Opmerkingen

Alcolea de Cinca is a small municipality in the Huesca province of Aragon, and this note is a product of the fractional currency crisis that swept Republican Spain during the Civil War. From 1936 onward, hoarding drove coins almost entirely out of circulation — silver first, then copper — leaving cooperatives, municipalities, and local trade unions to print their own low-denomination scrip just to keep commerce moving. The Cooperativa Única was almost certainly a collectivized workers' cooperative operating under anarcho-syndicalist or UGT influence, as was common in Aragonese villages during the Republican period.

Notes from entities this small rarely survived in quantity. Most were redeemed locally or simply discarded once the Nationalist advance through Aragon in 1938 rendered them worthless overnight.
