Obverse description Central round hole flanked by two symmetrical oak branches extending from the base toward the upper field, evoking civic and natural symbolism. Above the hole, a Phrygian cap is depicted as a symbol of liberty. The initials 'RF' (République Française) appear in the field, flanking the upper portion of the central aperture. The engraver's name 'EM LINDAUER' is inscribed in the lower field. The overall composition is clean and emblematic, characteristic of the early Third Republic coinage style.
