正面描述 Uniface reverse trial strike (épreuve uniface de revers), the obverse side presenting a completely blank, smooth field devoid of any design or legend, bounded by a narrow raised rim (listel fin). The plain surface retains the characteristic bronze patina of the issue and bears no devices, effigy, or inscription whatsoever, confirming its nature as a one-sided pattern piece intended to assess die quality and metal characteristics for the reverse design.

附加信息

The Dupuis centimes series emerged from an open competition launched by the Monnaie de Paris in the mid-1890s to refresh France's minor coinage. Jean-Baptiste Daniel-Dupuis won with a design that broke from the stiff academic classicism dominating French medallic art at the time. This uniface reverse trial — struck with a narrow flan rim rather than the production collar — was produced as part of the official approval process, where individual faces were assessed separately before a combined working die was sanctioned.

The thin listel distinguishes this piece from the standard épreuve format. GEM 14.13 is among the more precisely documented trial varieties in the Frossard-Gadoury reference framework.
