Obverse description The obverse features Arabic inscriptions arranged around a central circular hole, with a scalloped inner border framing the legends. The ruler's name and title appear in the upper field, reading 'Ahmad Muddat Bey of Tunisia', with the denomination '5 Centimes' displayed to the right of the hole. The Hijri date 1350 is inscribed in large Arabic-Indic numerals along the lower portion of the field, preceded by the word 'Sana' (year). The entire design is encircled by a toothed or crenellated outer border, characteristic of the holed coinage of French Protectorate Tunisia.
