| 背面描述 | The denomination numeral '5' is rendered in large, bold characters at center, flanked by ornate scrolling foliate or acanthus-leaf arabesques that fill the field symmetrically on either side. Below the numeral, the abbreviated unit 'Cent.' appears in smaller lettering. The maker's name THEVENON is inscribed discreetly within the design, likely along the lower margin. The decorative vegetal motifs lend the reverse an Art Nouveau character consistent with early twentieth-century French token production. |

Soulac-sur-Mer issued this aluminum token during the acute small-change shortage that plagued French municipalities in the early 1920s, when postwar metal costs and hoarding had effectively drained low-denomination coinage from everyday commerce. Hundreds of French communes, chambers of commerce, and local merchants' associations produced their own emergency nécessité pieces during this period — Soulac's issues are among the more obscure, reflecting the town's modest size as a coastal resort commune at the tip of the Médoc peninsula.
The El Monedero reference 10.1 suggests at least one additional variety exists in the catalogued series for this issuer.
