Reverse description A large, naturalistic olive branch with elongated leaves rises from a tied stem occupying the central field, symbolising peace. The denomination numeral 5 appears to the right, preceded by the abbreviation C. for Centesimi to the left. The circular legend STATO DELLA CITTÀ DEL VATICANO runs along the upper periphery, identifying the issuing state. The engraver's signature MISTRUZZI is visible in small letters at the lower right of the field. The composition is clean and elegant, in keeping with the refined neoclassical style employed for Vatican coinage of the period.
