| 背面描述 | The large numeral '5' dominates the central field in bold, double-outlined relief, with the Austral currency symbol — a stylized double-lined letter 'A' — positioned at the top of the field above the numeral. The denomination legend CENTAVOS is inscribed horizontally below the numeral in uppercase letters. The date of issue appears in the lower exergue area, separated from the denomination by a plain field. The overall design is stark and typographic, with no additional decorative elements. |

These brass 5 centavos pieces were issued as Argentina's economy was collapsing under the peso argentino system — a currency itself introduced only in 1983 as a redenomination designed to shed four zeros from the inflationary wreckage of the previous peso. It didn't hold. By 1985, the Austral Plan replaced the peso argentino entirely, and coins like this one were rendered obsolete within months of the later dates leaving the mint.
