Reverse description The reverse is essentially blank, presenting a largely unadorned, slightly irregular copper field with no legend or central device struck. Faint incuse impressions and ghosted outlines of wreath elements are visible scattered across the surface, indicative of the trial striking process where only partial die transfer occurred. This uniface or near-uniface appearance is consistent with a reverse trial piece, where the obverse design was tested against an undeveloped reverse die.
