| 背面描述 | Large numeral 5 dominates the central field, with the word CENTAVOS inscribed below in a slightly curved arrangement. The legend MONEDA PROVISIONAL curves along the upper periphery. Two small decorative sprigs or leaf ornaments flank the lower portion of the denomination, framing the design. The overall composition is simple and functional, characteristic of the provisional revolutionary coinage issued during the Mexican Revolution. |

The State of Oaxaca operated as a virtually independent entity during the Mexican Revolution, refusing to recognize Carranza's Constitutionalist government and issuing its own copper coinage when federal currency collapsed in credibility. This piece was authorized under the so-called "Sovereign State of Oaxaca" declaration of 1915, a direct political rupture with Mexico City that lasted until Carranza's forces finally subdued the state in 1920.
Oaxacan provisional issues circulated alongside a chaotic mixture of revolutionary scrip, with locals often preferring state copper to the paper promises of any faction. Striking quality varies sharply across the run — a consequence of improvised minting infrastructure rather than careless workmanship.
