Aanvullende informatie

The State of Morelos issued copper coinage in 1915 under the authority of Emiliano Zapata's Ejército Libertador del Sur, one of the few revolutionary factions to establish a functioning local monetary system rather than rely solely on paper currency. Zapata's agrarian movement needed hard money that campesinos would actually accept, and paper issues from rival factions had already eroded public trust badly.

Morelos copper is frequently found corroded or poorly struck — a consequence of improvised facilities, not design. The state's mint infrastructure was rudimentary at best.
