Obverse description Central device features the Mexican national eagle, depicted facing left and perched upon a cactus rising from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent in its beak — the traditional republican arms of Mexico. The eagle is flanked by laurel and oak branches curving along the lower field. A dotted border encircles the design.
